Chai Hair Studio

I grew up in Plano, Texas, studied computer science from the University of Texas at Austin, and went to graduate school at Harvard University. After school, I moved out to Los Angeles and worked 4 years as a software engineer in the defense industry before growing disillusioned with the corporate cubicle life.

Unfulfilled as an engineer, I began exploring opportunities in LA and soon discovered a creative inspiration for photography, barbering, and hairstyling. In 2012, I won a national men’s haircutting competition and became an international educator with American Crew. In 2013, I signed with Exclusive Artists Management, an agency that represents celebrity barbers and hairstylists. For the past 6 years, I’ve been teaching haircutting and working with celebrities in the entertainment industry. In 2020, I decided to move to Frisco, Texas with hopes of bringing my experience and skills back home. That’s how Chai Hair Studio was born.
