Bennett and Alma Griffin were large landowners and farmers west of Frisco and also owned the grain elevator in Frisco. Bennett served as a Frisco ISD school board member for nine years in the 1950s and was president for five of those years.
Alma graduated from Texas Wesleyan College as a Phi Beta Kappa, a woman of scholastic honors. She was a teacher in the Frisco schools and an active mother and member of the community. The Griffins donated land for the project center where FISD held its local fairs.
Their model of community service and spirit had a significant impact on their children. Mike Griffin served on the school board from 1985-90 and Linda Feld Griffin served on the school board from 1991-98.
