Mr. Richards earned his BA in history at Hampden-Sydney College in central Virginia in 1994. He moved to Dallas in 1995 to attend law school. He completed his JD at Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law in 1998.

Mr. Richards was formerly with The Law Office of Ben Abbott, P.C. He has represented over 3,000 clients in complex personal injury cases. He specializes in injury litigation relating to slip and falls, animal bites, and automobile collisions.

Since opening The Law Office of Vern D. Richards in 2005, Mr. Richards has developed a passion for helping everyday people with a variety of legal problems, including divorces, child custody disputes, wills and estate planning, commercial litigation, and personal injury claims.

The Richards are dedicated to helping others, and they have a true desire to love and support children whenever and wherever possible. They are a licensed foster care home and enjoy spending their free time with their foster children and their many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
