Cobb Middle School is named in honor of the entire Cobb family that has contributed to the success of Frisco schools. Robert Cobb, farmer and landowner of large tracts of land, served as a Frisco ISD board member for ten years from 1955-1964 and served as Trustee vice president for two years. Together, with his wife Charlene, they emphasized the importance of education and community service in their children.
Their son Scott served 11 years on the Frisco ISD school board and headed the Buyer’s Committee at the Collin County Fair with his brother Chris. Scott’s wife also taught home economics for a period of time. Robert and Charlene’s son Jerry was a parent leader with his wife at Frisco High School, especially in powerlifting, and Jerry has served on citizens bond committees as well. Frisco ISD is thankful for the contributions and support of the entire Cobb family.
